Gregg Strumwasser comes to Pillemer & Pillemer after working for 12 years as house counsel for Farmers Insurance, where he was the Supervising Attorney and Senior Trial Counsel for their CA Subrogation Department. While at Farmers, Gregg was instrumental in facilitating fastpaced growth with subrogation recoveries in his department by a factor of 9x. Gregg is eager to apply and share his knowledge toward maximizing recoveries in his role at Pillemer & Pillemer, with an express goal of growing client satisfaction in the process.
Gregg has been working in the subrogation arena continuously since 1980 and began his career as an attorney in 1997, litigating, arbitrating and mediating a wide variety of subrogation claims, including complex large loss property claims, product liability claims, government entity claims, and claims for contribution and/ or indemnity. He prides himself on building lasting client relationships based on reliable results. Gregg’s education and experience gives him the insight to find targets fast and lock in his client’s rights to all available coverage, which consistently enhances net results on claims he handles. Gregg has become a valuable source for legal opinions in the subrogation field and welcomes your questions toward recovery goals.
Gregg has expertise handling multifaceted litigation matters through arbitration, mediation and trial. He has taken and defended expert depositions in areas including medical, construction, engineering, architectural, and accident reconstruction. Gregg has extensive trial experience and enjoys his time in the courtroom, where he is respected by his peers and judicial officers for his professional approach toward resolving cases.
Gregg attended California State University, Northridge, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, with honors, that included a minor emphasis in Economics. He apprenticed under several expert subrogation attorneys for years during and after college. Thereafter, Gregg obtained his juris doctor degree, with honors, from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, where he was invited to join Law Review and was presented with Exceptional Achievement Awards for acing Real Estate
Transactions and Patent Law courses. Gregg was also a Deans Merit Scholarship Recipient and served as the National Liaison for the Student Division of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section’ of the American Bar Association.
Gregg partners with select expert collection vendors to proactively execute on judgments our firm obtains on an as needed basis. Gregg monitors each recovery effort, including wage garnishments and writs of execution that may be necessary to maximize recoveries. By partnering with such vendors, our firm’s reach is amplified to include a full collection arm, while helping shield our clients from many of the risks associated with the debt collection work surrounding executing on judgments.
When he is not practicing law, Gregg enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family. He likes to spend time learning about new technology and honing his computer skills as well. Gregg is also a licensed Real Estate Broker and the managing member of LLCs holding interests in commercial property. As a trusted diverse professional, Gregg has a proven track record of providing successful results for his clients.
Gregg is admitted to practice in both the state and federal Courts in California.
